The Chapters are short.  Audrey Ernie Mendes bases a lot of what he does on brain based learning. Wait time correlates with age so our students focus is about 15 min. Wait time for responses is about 7 to 10 seconds which is really quite a bit of time when your waiting.  One of the most important things to consider is middle school students is they are working off of their amygdala not the pre frontal cortex.  The amygdala is responsible for emotions and well welcome to middle school!  If you can engage based on this knowledge you will feel more successful each day!
