About Me: I have an extremely varied background in education. I originally wanted to teach elementary so my degree and first teaching certificate are in Elementary (Multiple Subject) Education. Then I got my first job teaching middle school at a Charter School in San Diego. I decided big kids weren't so bad, and added on a Supplemental Credential for 7-9 Life Science. Then I married into the military. I wound up at another Charter School in Abilene, TX. This time it was a High School ALE (Alternative Learning Environment). Loved the job, but I missed classroom teaching. Started doing test prep stuff that included some of the GLAD techniques that I love and I was ready for a few more years. So of course that means that my husband got orders to a new base. Now we are in Cabot, AR (just north of Little Rock) and I am once again in an ALE Charter for the local school district. This time as an English teacher under the HQT "loophole" I love working with "at risk" kids. My test scores are never great, but I know that everyday I make a difference....whether they want me to or not :o)
