Well that sounds very exciting, especially in that part of the world. Many countries in the middle east are taking a serious look at their education systems and embarking upon reform efforts in a number of domains. And along those lines, it seems like there is an incredible amount of interest in the use of technology as a teacher resource and an instructional tool in the classroom beyond just language training software. (Which seems to be their primary use of technology up to this point.) So I bet you keep pretty busy!
Hi Christine...well I actually worked as an educator laison through the US Embassy with the King Saud University's teacher college in Riyadh. I was doing two different series of support. First was to train university faculty on methods of re-developing the curriculum for many of their education courses for online delivery and various means of distance learning. The second thing I did was worked with their student teachers on the use of technology as an instructional tool in their classrooms. These student teachers were being trained as secondary teachers and will all be full-time teachers at this time next year.
I have done similar work abroad, but this was only my third time in the middle east. Prior work was in Egypt and Kuwait. What are you doing over there...?
Hello Christine and welcome to classroom2.0. I teach information and communications technology in south western Victoria, Australia. Is there anyway I can help you?
Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Pennsylvania!
You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
