Chapter 8 addresses the use of technology and social media tools to solve social dilemmas. Given my field, the title caught my eye, especially the section entitled, "Self Help We Don't Approve Of." I think Shirky's use of Ivanna's phone story brings up interesting ethical and relational questions. He notes, "the willingness of humans to feel wronged is infinite. OK, here goes my first attempt at posting... As a district social worker, I may be the only non-teacher in the group. Often the professional development classes don't pertain to the work we do, so I was excited to see a course that is relevant to my work with students and a topic that is an integral part of their lives.
