- About Me
- I am a graduate student at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, pursuing my Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation and Education. I completed my B.A. at UCLA in American Literature & Culture with a cultural emphasis in film and television in 2007. After being heavily involved on campus, I first volunteered abroad in Tanzania working as an HIV/AIDS educator and activist, and then returned to UCLA, where I quickly moved up the administrative ladder to help found a new office on campus, for which I served as Assistant Director for over a year.
At Harvard, I am exploring how we as educators can empower college students to create social change and foster civic engagement by leveraging media and technology to educate – and then transform education into action. In this way, I believe that educational technologists, media producers and educational administrators have a great impact not only in the a school community, but for the world. To empower our students to be civically active and socially engaged now is to foster a new generation of world-changers.
I am specifically interested in working with college students, but look forward to exploring educational media and technology's impact on formal and informal learners of all ages.
