I hold a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics/English Language and Literatures with Education and a Master's Degree in Literatures in English from the University of the West Indies. I am also completing an MSc in Educational Technology Leadership at Dowling College in the USA (I recently completed a graduate diploma in Instructional Technology (Computers in Education) at this same institution). Additionally, I have completed a number of certificate courses/programs in Computer Literacy and Training, Moodle Administration, Microsoft Office, Education and the like. Currently, I work at the said university as Blended Learning Instructor/Support Specialist; training lecturers in an array of technologies that can enhance the teaching and learning process. In this capacity, I also spear-head the campus's Podcasting Team and help implement the campus's blended/hybrid learning policy. Additionally, many of the functions I now fulfill in this position, I have been doing since my previous job at the said campus. Previously worked as an E-Learning Support Specialist at this same institution. Within this capacity, I was required to do training seminars and technical writing (creating videos and user-guides/manuals for our staff and student population of over 17,000. I also troubleshoot any technical difficulties or end-users may encounter on our LMS. Given my profession, my experience with Instructional Technology might be somewhat expansive. I have been exposed to a range of software that assist in the teaching and learning process such as Camtasia Studio, Turnitin, Audacity and much more.
