About Me
Okay, the theme is Sydney and I lived in Melbourne for a year. I couldn't find a theme that was Melbourne.

Completing a year as an exchange teacher was a life changing (for the best) experience!

Exchange Teacher Group

If you've landed here because I invited you to join Classroom 2.0. You're not quite finished yet. I need you to join the Exchange Teacher group I've created.

I created this group for a few simple reasons.

  1. I see a need for a social network for teachers who have participated in an exchange program. I think we could all benefit from sharing experiences.
  2. I think this would also help promote the…

Staff Development in Web 2.0

Posted on February 10, 2008 at 6:28pm 3 Comments

I have known since sometime in early December that come February 15, I would be teaching 3-75 minute sessions (the same thing three times) to the GMHS staff. My assigned topic in early December was Blogs, Wikis and Podcasts.

I spent the better part of six weeks wondering just what the heck I was going to do. The topic is too broad, the staff skill levels are all over the place. What to do.

Finally this week, I put a lot of things into place. With the help of a couple of other… Continue

Hi Mari. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. We'd really like to get students involved from Colorado!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Hey Mari, Just thought I would join and see what it is all about. This is very similar to MySpace. A lot of info here to look at.

All sounds very exciting for staff - they are lucky to have you. I come back to a Yr 9 Flash 'Moving Pictures' ten week course, Yr 10 Multimedia - Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, 3D Studio Max 20 week course, Yr 8 Drama and Yr 11 Craft. Seems pretty enjoyable so far. Am missing the daily adventure though. Oh and being an Aussie rock star wherever I go! Thanks for this way of communicating!

Hi Mari! I hope your presentation goes well next week. I'm thinking about the Voicethread you've put together and trying to decide what I might add. Since you don't have anything up on the blogs frame, I think I'll leave a brief message about my blogging experiment with my honors LA and about how I've learned so much about web 2.0 technology through the conversations I've had in the edublogosphere. What do you think?
