Hi Ralph, have you considered using volunteer involvement in social benefit causes as a motivator for people to engage in the collaborative learning and 2.0 applications that you're trying to teach?

Visit http://www.tutormentorconnection.org and you'll find extensive information focused on connecting workplace volunteers with inner city kids in comprehensive, non-school, tutor/mentor programs. Such programs can involve volunteers in all levels of organizational development, and they need to be in every major city. Thus, a company that sets up a collaboration and elearning platform could support the networking, learning and collaboration of employees from many cities, who get involved for a variety of different reasons.

Not only can your employees learn skills, you can also build new employees, and great public good will.

I'm looking to help companies develop such strategies because that's the misssion of my organization.
