About Me
Rick currently teaches business education classes at East Stroudsburg High School South in the East Stroudsburg Area School District. After earning his B.S in Business Administration (Accounting) from West Virginia University, he started his career as a financial planner and later discovered his passion for teaching through various service opportunities. He returned to school and earned his M.Ed. in Business Education and his K-12 BCIT certificate from Robert Morris University. He has since earned his M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership with K-12 Principal’s Certificate from East Stroudsburg University and is hoping to begin a J.D./Ph.D. program in 2022.

As a 15-year veteran of teaching, he has enjoyed developing relationships with diverse students through classroom instruction and extracurricular involvement. He has taught a variety of classes in the business and technology curriculum throughout his career including Personal Finance, Law, Entrepreneurship & Management, Microsoft Office, Keyboarding, and Business Math. Rick is also a long time Kiwanis member and Key Club advisor helping students develop leadership skills through the vehicle of service. He also works with the North High School’s marching band where he teaches marching techniques and provides videography, photography, and movie production services for the band.

As a former business owner and employer, he has a unique perspective on education. He believes that employers are looking for both knowledge and the ability to apply it. He believes that education must evolve into the Information Age, producing students full of technical, academic, and philosophical knowledge and bursting with 21st Century Skills so they can solve the world’s most daunting problems. He believes that students must be allowed to explore a robust STEAM curriculum with requirements in service and financial and cultural literacy. Thus prepared, they will go out and zealously change the world.

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” ~Aristotle
