I have been involved in adult education for over 15 years with more than 10 years of that experience within the VET sector. I have a passion for e-learning and the many benefits. This passion was sparked early in my VET career due to a need to remotely lecture Australian students while I was working offshore. In the past 10 years I have worked as an facilitator (mainly online) for a major public Registered Training Organisation and as a professional development presenter for WestOne Services, including being the WA Toolbox Champion for both 2006 and 2007.
I also have extensive experience in resource development to support the national VET sector. A few recent projects that I have managed for the Department of Training and Workforce Development in Western Australia include the Recognition of Prior Learning Assessment Tool kits development with over 27 being released in 2010, Children, Carer and Country resource kit (designed specifically for remote Indigenous learners in Community Services and Children Services qualifications. The overall aim is to build students’ capacity to develop culturally appropriate children's services in their communities. Embedded in the training delivery is a commitment to strengthen Aboriginal language, identity and culture), Allied Health Workers - Rural and Remote learning objects and the Innovation Incubator for small businesses.
