Hi Sevil, I am so sorry that I haven't responded before now! I was also very busy with the end of the school year last June. Do you have a vacation from school from the end of June until the beginning of September? I have had a busy start to the year and have been neglectful of my Classroom 2.0 connection. Do you have the same students that you had in your class last year, or do you get new students each year? If you have the same students, I will be sure and answer their questions, and we can create a project to have them "meet" again this year. I look forward to hearing from you. Julie

Hi Sevil,
How are things going? Were you able to see the VoiceThread we did for your class? My students were so proud of themselves that they learned how to say Hello in Turkish. Are you getting ready for a break from school, or do your students go to school all year?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Julie

Hi Sevil,
I am back from break and slowly getting into my regular routine. My e-mail address is jdewaters@cccsd.org. The name of my school is Churchville Elementary School in Churchville, New York. We have students here from Kindergarten to 4th grade. Many people know about New York City, but Churchville is more than 350 miles from New York City. Our school has about 370 students. There is more than one building in our school district, but I teach in the smallest and oldest building. We have 2 more elementary schools and 1 (very big) building that has students from 5th grade to 12th grade. I am excited to see the activities you had for Childrens' Day. Take care and I will talk with you soon. Julie

Hi Sevil,
I am sorry it took so long for me to respond to your last message. The voiki is wonderful, and thank you very much for the Bubble Joy message. I was going to wait and respond by sending you a Bubble Joy message, but I've been so busy. I have gathered some pictures and will be working to get them into a VoiceThread. I am hoping to do a lot of work over our Spring break. I will work harder to respond more quickly to your messages. I hope things are well with you and your project is off to a good start. Take care, Julie

Hi Sevil,
My school is on Spring break the week of April 19th. I will begin my Voice Thread project this week. I like the idea of have the kids ask questions about each other. I would like to teach my kids to say Hello in your language. Is there a way that you can help me with pronounciation? You talked about preparing a story about what we are doing here. Would that be a story written and told by you and me as an introduction, or a story written by the kids about what they are learning about in class? Take care, Julie

Hi Sevil,
It was wonderful to hear back from you. I think the idea of taking pictures and saying hello is a great idea! I looked at your blog and saw the video of your class visit to the farm. What program did you use to put it together? I know that our Kindergarten classes do a farm visit as well. Maybe I can show my students your video and have them ask questions for your students to answer. I can talk to the Kindergarten teachers and use their pictures to put together a video for you to show your students? For the VoiceThread pictures, would you want to do indidual pictures or a class picture? I look forward to hearing from you. Julie

Hello Sevil,
I am an elementary school librarian and have had a bit of experience working with young students. To date, my use of technology with my Kindergartners has been pretty limited. I have shown them places on Google Earth in connection with a story, and they have also navigated games on the web site of a favorite author. What did you have your students do in KidPix? What is the biggest challenge for you when you have all your 4 year olds at the computer? How many students do you have? It would be wonderful if we could work together on a small project to introduce our students to one another. Have you seen Voice Thread on the Internet? It is a pretty interesting tool that helps people share pictures, stories etc. I've been trying to come up with project in which I could use Voice Thread. If you have an opportunity to investigate the site, let me know if you have an idea. http://www.voicethread.com is the web address. You can set an account for free. It would be wonderful to hear from you.

Hello Sevil and welcome to classroom2.0 I am a secondary teacher and really admire you for teaching the younger ones. Do you have any technology in your preschool? If so, what do you have? How many children are in your classes and do they come to the preschool every day?
