How to engage students into writing during the summer period?

Students tend to be lazybones when it comes to writing. How to motivate them to develop creative writing skills on holidays?

Kids should participate in creative contests and unusual scholarships. On the threshold of Ghostbusters reboot Unplag team created the one that I've found interesting and funny: https://unplag.com/blog/unplag-plagiarism-busters-contest/

Students just have to write a creative story describing their actions in the following situation - the army of ghosts is overrunning their school/college/university, add the hashtags #Unplag and #PlagiarismBusters and share it on their Facebook timeline.

The deadline is coming but you still have time to let their creativity flow! (Moreover, they can win $150 Amazon Gift Card)

- You don't.

To make students involve in writing activities is definitely a tough task. It requires lot of patience and convincing mind to help them get that mind set.

Thank you so much for the mention!Great writing is indirect communication of the "impossible-to-say”.

Some points:-

1) Think of something you really want to write about. Make efforts to observe & research.
2) Be very creative.

3) Include educational achievements.

4) Writing mechanics: grammar, sentence structure, spelling, etc....

5) Instinctive and intuitive (natural).

6) Structured and methodical.
