Has anybody been using Search Me? I just discovered this today and think it really has great promise. I think it is still in beta mode, but this is great for searching for things visually on the web.

David,
I love search me as a visual search engine. Has such a cool look to it and do you notice how it changes categories depending upon the topic?

Also, have you looked at Boolify? A different visual search engine interface that is especially great for younger students.
Thanks, I think the visual style is called "cover flow" which is similar to apple's new version of itunes.

I like Boolify as well, what we deal w/ as a district is if we can have kids use google, which it seems to be built on, so I'm not sure how well that will go over here.
Hi David,
I tried to access this link to "Search me?" without success. What does 'beta mode' mean? Should I be able to get to it with Windows Vista on a PC (not mac?).
Beta means that the developers consider the application is not yet a finished product. Some developers even put out 'alpha' versions of software which they consider good but still not worthy of getting the 'beta' label. e.g. the opensource Kindlelab software for the Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard - a homemade version which uses a Wiimote and a pen with a light.
Thanks Leigh. I still haven't been able to acess this, but I am having trouble with my virus protection and security settings at present.
ah Vista....
Beta means they haven't fully finished working on it as it is in testing mode, but it should work on a PC just fine being on the web. However, if u are using Vista I'm not sure being that it has had it's issues.
Thanks David - That may well be the problem!
This is great! Thanks for sharing.
