Gosh! I'm sorry I didn't think of this first, but we really SHOULD introduce ourselves, shouldn't we? :-)

Hi,

After 10 years out of the classroom, but not education, I will be back in the classroom teaching 3-5 reading and math. I do have 16 years of classroom experiences, but lots has changed since I was active in the classroom. Hope to have this network to help me "get back in the swing of things." I am up on technology, but the seamless integration is rusty. Hope to get lots of advice!
Hi
I will be going back to teaching first grade this year, after spending two years as the computer lab teacher (K-5). It will be my 12th year teaching first grade.
Hi everyone, I'm a first grade teacher in Grayling, MI. It is a small town where the whole county comes to the school building. My building is K-2. I am the techno-guru at our school, and everyone looks to me to lead them in the right direction. I love teaching, I love reading, and I love computing!
msbarth.wetpaint.com - in development but getting there

I'm 1/2 done with my Masters in Reading, considering switching to Ed Tech. Hmmm....how to choose between two loves???
Hi Everyone! My name is Cathy and I teach second grade in a suburban district located on the outskirts of Philadelphia. Next year I will move to a first grade position with the possibility of looping with my students. I am fond of the process and have looped several times in the past.

I have earned my masters degreein education from Saint Joseph's University with certification in Reading, Special Education, and Elementary Education. I have a true passion for reading instruction and love to follow the work out of Columbia University.

Currently, I am stepping out of my comfort zone to take a series of courses in E-Learning. I am learning so much about technology, but still have so far to go. There is much to learn these days.

I look forward to working, growing, and exporing together as a community of learners. I love the idea of sharing our delicious accounts. My account has recently been established. The address is...

Hello! I am currently leaving blended JK/SK to teach Grade 3 in Sept. So far I have spent my holiday taking courses and READING to get ready! I have 3 children, and many interests outside of school as well...gardening, cooking, etc
I love to collaborate with others and have a classroom blog that helps that happen sometimes! It is of Kindergarten now, but in Sept. it will be a grade 3 blog of course..

My name is Katie and I teach 4th grade in Schiller Park, Illinois. I really enjoy teaching reading more than anything throughout the day! I'm always looking for new and exciting ideas to add to my classroom. I am happy to share my ideas as well! :)

Hello all!
My name is Linda and this will be my 10th year teaching. I've taught Jr. High, 1st, 4th, 5th, and this year am moving to 2nd for the first time!! I will also be implementing the Daily 5 for the first time this year! I have 3 children- ages 12, 6, and 2 and am currently going for my masters in Reading. After that I will be going to get a second masters in Library Media Specialist (not sure quite what the degree is called yet!) I used to take pride in my technology background- but apparently have been under a rock for the last 5 years because I really didn't even know that blogs, wikis, etc were called Web 2.0! I just learned about del.icio.us a few days ago (pathetic I know). My username is thirteen11linna, however, we just got a new PC at home so I don't have many bookmarks yet. As soon as I go back (yikes!) I'll import from my school PC.
Can't wait to jump into this great network!!
I am developing schools for third world countries to bring the kids upto the developed countries level.
Hello from Connecticut
My name is Rebecca Pilver and I work for an Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) in northeastern Connecticut. I was a classroom grade 2 and grade 4 teacher before working here as a staff development specialist. I provide all kinds of professional development...from literacy coaching to curriculum development work to one day workshops. Literacy and technology are my favorite areas.

I've been working with a colleague of mine to develop online literacy collaborative projects. Our Spice it Up a Notch with Nutmeg! wiki project is in its third year and it involves kids in talking, writing, and responding to literature using Web2.0 technology.

I am looking forward to sharing ideas with this group!
Love your Wiki!  I will be sending an email soon so my class can participate.
Hi! My name is Laura and I am excited to be a part of this group! I am starting my fourth year of teaching and I am teaching first grade this year.... more about me and my interests outside the classroom on my blog...

I am excited to learn new things from all of you and maybe even be able to share a few things I've learned along the way!
