Welcome to Classroom 2.0!
Hi, DeAnna here. I am in Fort Scott, Kansas. I am a science teacher, with an interest in middle school level and still looking for employment. Not many openings in my area. I plan on working on my Master's in Instructional Design and Technology when I have a couple of years under my belt. This looks like a great place to learn about instructional technology! I look forward to learning from many different people. I haven't spent a lot of time on social networks, so this is a new experience for me. I have already jumped in and responded to a blog post I liked!
Come to Kansas City. I'm sure you would have no trouble finding a job. I read recently that 46% of the teachers in Kansas are of retirement age within the next 5 years!
I plan to, after my daughter graduates. She loves her school, and I can't imagine moving her from it. It is a bit far to commute from where we are ... but it prospects don't get better, I may find a way to commute up there. Thank you!
Hi All,
What a wonderfully rich site!

I am a college professor and consultant for LitLife who interested in global collaborations and the uses of educational technology. I am from California, but have been living on the East Coast for about 8 years now ( I moved to the East Coast for grad school at RISD and haven't left).

I have been traveling to Ghana for about five years, and two years ago, I founded a nonprofit with several colleagues called The International School of Art, Business, and Technology in Ghana (or I.S.A.B.T for short). Our mission is to promote education both at home and abroad in West Africa. We sponsor bookmaking projects in Ghana and here in the US, run global studies trips to Ghana, and are raising funds to build a media "Super school" in the village of Elmina (in the Central region of Ghana).

Anyone who has any ideas about promoting literacy, working in West Africa, and utilizing technology for education please contact me!

Cheers-
Jonathan Thurston
