Hi,
I would like to get advice on what's the best way to go about teaching 6-7 year olds on telling the time.
Did anyone use any of the boards to assist them? Have anyone encountered any problems that I should be aware of in teaching children the time?

The SMARTBoard is a very effective tool for instruction. It basically allows students or teachers to use their hand to manipulate programs or objects on a computer instead of using the mouse. You can use PowerPoint, Internet or any software you normally use but you use your hand on a big screen instead of the mouse.

SMARTBoards come with software called Notebook that is similar to PowerPoint but better. The Notebook software does have over 5000 images and interactive flash objects including 4 interactive clocks. Almost every object (picture, writing, movie etc) you put in Notebook can be moved, rotated or resized.

Our school division has hundreds of SMARTboards that K-12 teachers use to instruct with. Harvey Almarode has an excellent SMARTBoad Notebook file on time at http://almarolh.googlepages.com/measurement that you could use if you have a SMARTBoard and the Smart Notebook software installed on your computer. Another good lesson is at http://education.smarttech.com/NR/rdonlyres/268311E2-E81A-421B-AF50...

To see SMARTBoards in action, search YouTube for SMARTBoards. One example is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NzL1NYi3Y8

To order a SMARTBoard, see this web page at http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Where+to+Buy/
