Senator Lamar Alexander has invited a group of educational bloggers to participate in a telephone conference tomorrow morning. The last time we held this type of meeting we simply had an opportunity to ask questions. If anyone has any questions that they'd like to ask a U.S. senator please let me know.

Thanks.

Can a "National Policy on Educational Technology with focus on Web 2.0 technologies" be brought out --
so that State / District authorities can have guidelines to adopt the same and encourage the teachers to use technology extensively?
Do people in the Senate even read?

(But seriously....)

I would like to know what better ways the US can ensure funding for educational research that supports instructional technology initiatives for faculty development. Most of the funding is directed toward underprepared students. Teachers need funding as well for their training. Libraries need funding to develop technology driven collections, digitizing projects, etc. Higher Ed needs funding to develop infrastructure that enhances K_12 partnerships and so on and so on........
Off the topic a bit - but wouldn't it be great to have some of the US Senators and Reps come to NECC next year?
