Below you will see the end of course benchmarks for Social Studies please review and decide if anything needs to be moved, added, and/or deleted. Remember if an indicator is in Quarter I that means that it will be assessed at the end of Quarter I.

You can offer your suggestions in two ways: 1) You can post a comment describing the changes or 2) you can open the file, save it on your computer, then post a comment with the revised file as an attachment.

This will insure that your input is available to those that are going to create the quarterly assessment.

Can we also include 6th grade to this discussion? Since I am continuing the World History Curriculum it would be helpful for me if I knew what standards the 6th grade mastered. I would also would like to know where does the Amistad fall? Can it be incorporated into my curriculum or is it more suitable for 8th grade?
Hi -
I think it is a great idea to include 5th and 6th grade into the discussion. I am uploading their course benchmarks and I will shoot them an email. I think you can certainly incorporate it into your curriculum and really try to get a global perspective on the situation. I know that Mike feels like his" jar" is already full.

After polling my 8th grade Geometry class, the students felt the Amistad lessons were perfectly placed in the 7th grade curriculum. There was an overwhelming response that was both positive and excited that they had the opportunity to learn that material as a part of your class. Well done...you must have taught for understanding and not for a test :)
It seems like we can break up World history pretty easily between 6-7th grade...Starting with the Early People and ending with Greece in 6th grade.
