This is so old school, but ... do schools use Office 2003 or 2007?

Hi Yes you can open any Office 2007programs and save as an earlier version. You have to download a converter from Microsoft. Do a search for Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats

I'm in Victoria Australia and we still use Office 2003 at our school but there are lots of school using 2007 so it is essential to have the converter.

I just got 2007 this year, but a few of my students had it earlier than I did. When they turned in reports in 2007, I was able to view their work using a free downloadable viewer. I am guessing that there is a free viewer for PowerPoint too.

We have swapped to office 2007 this year and the transition appears to be smooth. I think Michelina Thorton response is the best way to go regarding compatabiltiy issues, my rule of thumb is items for wide distribution one should er on the side of caution and cater for people who are not using the most up to date software.

We use Office 2003 but we're getting new computer labs probably before second semester next year and we'll make the switch to 2007. This ought to be interesting since we wrote the curriculum last year for 2003.:>)
