Hello all. We are being asked to start to integrate technology into our high school culinary courses. We are looking for ideas beyond "looking up and storing recipes". I have some thoughts but I would love to hear your experiences or ideas.

1. Reproduce the "Next Food Network Star". The students would love it. 2. Do webcasts with elementary kids, allow them to ask questions live while your kids are cooking. 3. Or you could video conference with people in retirement communities. Have your kids make the recipes from the 'senior' cooks and let the 'senior' cooks critique the cooking, then take the food to them for a dinner party! 4. Do a cooking show for local access TV. 5. Put a video cook book on line. 6. Like Mandy said, start a cooking blog--you could do this with parents or the folks in the retirement homes--Recipes from All Ages. 7. Use a document camera to share cooking techiques with all the class (rather than having everybody crowd around). 8. Teach food styling and then take digital photos for your blog. OK, that's all I can think of now.

PS I like Mandy's idea--students could go to local farmers markets and talk to different vendors on film--oriental gardners, herb growers, beekeepers, sausage makers, bakers.
Fantastic ideas! Thank you! I love the idea of interviewing the local farmers on film as well. I wanted to set them up with a blog i just wanted more then recipes. The video addition is perfect.
