I'm wondering how many other people have decided not to use the proprietary Flip software and tried to utilize with Windows Movie Maker? I have had very poor results with this. I find that I get the dreaded red X. I contacted Flip and was told that they were working on the problem.

Did you load the software on your computer?
Yes, I loaded the software.
We got it to work, but I'll have to go back and figure what we did to get around it. It's been too long! :-(
Where do you get the dreaded red X? I think we had that problem and it was because our firewall was blocking the site. It could be that.
This only seems to happen whenever I go to the import function for Movie Maker.
I use the Flip software to download from the camera and then save the file to my computer. I then import the file into Windows Movie Maker. Have had great success this way.
