Webcam and Mic recommentdations?

I will soon be Skyping with a student during class. The student hasn't been able to attend school for a while now and we are hoping to involve the student with her peers. I'm looking for a good web cam and microphone to purchase. I have no idea what type of web cam would be best. I have tried a USB Logitech microphone, but it didn't pick up sound from the class very well.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
