Hi there,

I am brand new to Classroom 2.0 and am going to be doing my student teaching this fall. I am interested to see if anyone can provide me with some good resources for technology integration in the elementary classroom? I am set up with RSS, so blogs are great, but I am having difficulty finding ones that are informative and up-to-date. I will be teaching second grade this fall, so sites that are specifically for 2nd grade teachers would be even better. Thanks so much!

Emily,

Sorry I am just seeing this....I have been really busy...go figure. :) Thank you so much for the blogs and the advice! I really appreciate it. I feel so lucky to be a teacher this day and age because of the resources and support available. I wish you a lot of luck in your pursuit of your Master's. I can hardly believe I am one week away from being done. I had a fantastic experience for student teaching, but the hardest part is yet to come. I cry every time I even *think* about leaving my little second graders. They really are the best!

Thank you again...and good luck to you!

Spellingcity.com is a great tool to reinforce weekly spelling words.
Thanks Crystal! I have seen Spellingcity and was talking to my host teacher about it. I didn't have much time to play with it, but it seemed cool that you could create your own lists, etc. Do you know if you can customize the games on there for your own spelling word list?
Yes, you can. If you create a dree account you can save this weekly spelling lists and have students practice their own word lists.
Try these. This is what in my RSS reader...

Thanks, Jonathan!

I see we follow some of the same blogs, but I also see a bunch of new ones on your feed that I will have to check out. I am done with student teaching in a week, so I will have a lot more time to check them out when I am unemployed. :) Thanks again!

I guess most importantly you engage with other teachers through twitter - this way you always stay up to date ;)

The focus is on technology integration
I am just starting my student teaching as well and I agree that it can be difficult to find really useful (and accurate) resources for technology in the classroom. I really like the following site as a general go-to. Its really easy to understand and navigate.

(I recommend checking out Dr. William P Martin's "Really BIG List of Classroom Management Resources" link)
