Augmented reality (AR) opens up new possibilities for teaching. I am interested in knowing all about it. I wanted to get at creating educational projects augmented reality. I'm learning to handle ARTtoolkit. Anybody can recommend other software? Does anybody on any project of this kind?

Looks like I just found a summer project!

I read a book last year all about augmented reality in education. It was written in 2008 and referenced studies in 2006-07 so it is already outdated it would appear. It was a very interesting read then and I really do think this is a "next step" type thing for education.

With every cell phone basically having a camera, GPS and wifi now it seems like implementing this will be far, far easier than it seemed even a year ago.
Thank you very much for your intervention. I write from Spain and here it is very difficult to find courses or seminars about this topic. Really, now augmented reality is coming to the user; but slowly.
I teach Prep in Australia (Kindergarden).  We have just used Aurasma Lite (an app for Apple and Android devices) to embed videos and messages into our drawings.  The children loved it.  check out our reflection here: .  Aurasma is free to download too.
