Anyone heard of Power Point? I just came across this the other day. Seems like it could be used by students.... I'm a little nervous to try it out... anyone else have any experience using it with students?

Ha ha. You sure know how to stir the pot!:)
I just read your posting about this new company, Apple. Some people have no sense of humor.
I use it all the time and it is a great tool. Adding animation and narration is not hard at all. We put lessons on the school webpage so children can go over them at night or an absent student can catch up on what they missed.

The kids prabably know how to do it and will be happy to help you. I learn a lot from my students. When in doubt, ask a kid!
I'll be sure do to that, Grace. Thanks a bunch! Animation and narration sound really hard though.....
Someone just sent me this link with lots of tools to try. After you watch the video about Power Point, you may not want to do it but I still think it is a non-threatening way to get into doing this stuff. It's easy and you don't need to go online to do it. But the ideas on this blog are great to try yourself or with a kid in your class who is good with this stuff. Most of what I know I learned from 6th graders.

Thanks Grace... this Microsoft company has created a great product with this Power Point program.. do you know if they have anything for basic word processing? That would be really great too, if they did.
Sean, Power Point usually comes as part of Office with Word (word processing) Access(data base) and Excel (spreadsheet)
Hey, did you guys hear that they just took 'gullible' out of the dictionary? ;o)
hmm... its still in the dictionary that I have here... maybe I need to buy an updated one. Thanks!
errr.. on this powerpoint thingy... I've located a powerpoint, but can't find a c(h)ord to plug into it. Should I instead play KeyNote(s)?
