I'm a huge Wordle fan though I haven't found many ways to use it in my classroom. I think it is a great idea and my students love to play with it. Playing with words is always a cool thing.
But I don't think I'll ever use Wordle again. I found a post on HistoryTech (historytech.wordpress.com) today about a new site named Tagxedo. It is a Wordle clone with a very cool twist. You can make your clouds in the shape of an image you import. So, instead of having every cloud look like, well... a cloud - they can now look like anything.
They have some great examples on their homepage at
http://www.tagxedo.com/. This is one I could definitely see myself using in my classroom. The added visual style just screams "MAKE ME INTO A POSTER!" and I'll be happy to oblige. Very cool site, check it out.
