Looking forward to checking out your resources.  I love Web 2.0.  AASSA stands for Association of American Schools in South America.

 

I'm Canadian but have been teaching abroad for the past 10 years.  At the time, I was working at the International School of Nido de Aguilas in Santiago, Chile.

I really like Dreamlines which generates dreamy images related to your search term. I think it makes an interesting prompt for any sort of creativity, and I wrote about how I'd use it with kids on my blog recently.

SchoolTube.com is a great fun and moderated video websharing site that you can use in your classroom and not worry about inappropriate content!  There is even a Elementary Category where you can see all sorts of videos pertaining to elementary level topics.

Great way to introduce media sharing as well with your students.  The Educators Page is filled with all sorts of video sharing resources as well to assist you if needed.  It is also a free resource for in class usage where if you create videos they can be accessed and stored.  You can embed any of SchoolTube videos as well on your own webpages or even create a classroom channel.  This is one of thousands of videos that you can find on SchoolTube.

Try MEET ME AT THE CORNER, Virtual Field Trips for Kids (www.meetmeatthecorner.org) . Children are encouraged to submit their own videos or video book reviews. The site has a lot of how-to videos for  young filmmakers.  There are ove 100 originally produced videos on this site for children ages 5-13. Check out the Learning Corner with each show.

I recently stumbled upon the site Storybird. It takes illustrations from various artists and animators and makes them available for students to add their own words to create a story. I have not tried this with my kindergarten class yet, but am looking forward to using it as an interactive writing activity to create a class story. I believe you can add a class of students for free.
