With a price tag of $400-$830, I just couldn't justify getting an iPad (much less a fleet to use with students). So when I heard that it was possible to turn a $250 Nook Color into and Android Tablet, I was intrigued.
I did some online research and a few hours later, I had a rooted Nook, which has virtually the same functionality as a first-generation iPad for half the price.
So I wrote a blog explaining how you can make it happen.

Katy,
Your re-creativity always amazes me.
Big tech purchases are greased with federal grant money. The companies "edu-sales" division depend upon and facilitate the grant writing process. ( I got this right from the horses' mouth)
Keep innovating and re-creating.
PS: Did you ever rig up that refrigerator spy cam?
