Copyright and Fair Use of online Images

Hi fellow members. I am curious as to your opinions on the Copyright and Fair Use responsibilities we have as educators - particularly as it pertains to the use of online images in classroom presentations and assignments. Google has an Advanced Search feature which allows for the filtering of images "labeled for reuse." Obviously it is probably safest to always use these particular photos, but often, the images that appear during a generic search are more appropriate to the subject matter. Is it OK to use these images for educational purposes only? Would this fall under a Fair Use situation?

After clicking around wikipedia for a few minutes I arrived here

Probably all pictures are either free, public domain, because their copyright has expired or they are under the "fair use" umbrella. In either case under every image there is information that you and/or your students will have to read and decide if and how to use the image. think it's a great resource. Check it out.

I've been in a predicament similar to yours and the long story short is you can use images for your presentations so long as you cite where you got them from (and just saying that you got them from google does not count).
