Has anyone used this for collaborative projects in or out of the classroom? If so, what, if any challenges did you encounter? I'm thinking about giving this a try and would like some feedback first.

My professor shared this link to us since we all used Voice Thread to Introduce ourselves.  It is really simple, invest on a good headset.  I got a Logitech which is also what our professor recommended.  So here is the link:

I use Voicethread with my social studies class that I teach.  It provides a great forum for students to present their ideasafterthey have completed research on the appropriate topic.  I didn't come across a lot of obstacles except that you should have students progam their work allowing viewers to comment and view their work on the "Browse" section.  This should be under the "Publishing Options" tab at the bottom of the webpage in the "Create" section.  If this doesn't happen, they will not be able to view each other's work or make audio comments.

Also, you may want to consider upgrading your account with VT because it only allows you and students to create up to five voice threads.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I enjoyed using voicethread as a student but have never used it as a teacher.  Some things to watch out for are students who are shy about how their voice sounds on the microphone.  I would recommend you posting a voicethread first so students can see how it works.  They may be more interersted and comfortable seeing before trying.

Good Luck!
