Our nine elementary schools provide an enrichment class 40 minutes each week that highlights different cultures.  The class is called FLEX (Foreign Language Experience).  Our students really enjoy hearing about the differences we have and the commonalities we share with other countries.

One of our teachers asked if it would be possible for our students to actually meet students from other countries virtually.  Does anyone know of a website that helps schools around the world connect to one another?  We begin a unit of study on Dubai next week and would love to add this additional experience for our students.

You might try the Global Net organization.  The link is:

http://www.globalschoolnet.org/

It connects schools in various countries for assorted projects.  I haven't used it myself, but it looks like what you might be looking for.  I think that I may be using it in the future as it looks like a great site!
