High School Book Clubs

As a high school librarian I am toiling with the idea of a book club for students. What successes have you experienced? Has anyone developed an "online" book club? If so, how? Did you run it as a blog? Did you offer it on Facebook?

I offer them for teachers using Moodle. We offer PD hours to teachers who take part in them. I setup a discussion forum and post a reflection question for each chapter. Participants must respond to the reflection question and to one other persons response.
