I recently began working with preschool students whose first language is not English.  What are some good resources to help create lesson plans specifically for this age?

Oooh I know of several great ones!

I have had ELLs my entire time teaching; it's a beautiful challenge.

First of all, patience is the most important thing, their language will be acquired at different rates as they are individuals. One of the most important and valuable things you can do for them is read to them, all the time! Also, give them several opportunities to talk and share with one another, this really helps to authentically build language. Share tangible cognates with them.

I will get back to you with more resources later - have to teach! :)

Thank you so much!  It's very encouraging to hear that you have been working with English language learners for a long time and you still see the beauty in working with these precious, vulnerable students.  Any resources you can provide would be greatly appreciated!  :)
