Do your students have what it takes to be America’s Top Young Scientist? Or are you going to be the DEN's Science Teacher of the Year? We're looking for a few great students and teachers to inspire us with their enthusiasm for science, so show us what you've got! Create a short (1-2 min.) video about one of this year's scientific topics and YOU could win a trip to Washington, DC to compete in the YSC finals.
It's far easier to enter than you might think, and ten lucky finalists will win an all-expenses paid trip to DC for the finals!
There is also a teacher component for the first time this year. Beginning March 1, science teachers who are members of the Discovery Educator Network (DEN) are invited to enter. Becoming a member of the DEN is easy. Registration is free and only takes a few minutes. In late summer 2008, judges will select the five teachers who will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, for the competition finals. Teacher finalists will compete in a series of individual and team challenges in front of a live audience. At the end of the competition, judges will award the top teacher a special prize, and the title of "DEN's Science Teacher of the Year".
