Hi everyone, My name is Don Bierschbach and I am currently enrolled in a M.A. program with the University of Maryland University College. One of my class asignments is to interview any Assistive Technology Specialist in the K-12 setting. Assistive technology specialists can include; special education teachers, district and regional school district special education specialists, technology integration specialists, or anyone you can defend as an expert in assistive technology related to K-12 students.
Can anyone curently working with assistive technology in the K-12 setting discusss and answer the following questions. If so could you please email them to mrbhistory@yahoo.com
Discuss the following interview questions with your assistive technology specialist:
1. Discuss your educational background and why did you choose to work with assistive technology. Describe a student with a challenging learning disability and how you supported him/her using assistive technology hardware and/or software.
2. What assistive technology software do you find most helpful for students with disabilities? Why? (You may want to ask about your discipline/grade level of students.)
3. What assistive technology hardware do you find most useful for students with disabilities? Why? (You may want to ask about your discipline/grade level of students.)
4. What are some emerging assistive technologies? How will they help students?
Thanks in advance for your help
