Projector usage in classs

I'm teaching science and math.Does anyone have advice as to whether short experiment video clips shown to the class and discussed is a good idea or would it be better to do the experiment myself ? Please mind that this video clip is not replacing the kids doing experiments but simply a means to engage the students audio visually
