With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

When you have time, could you let me know how your project turned out? I'm really interested in doing something with Skype and my fifth graders. We're Midwest neighbors, I'm in Illinois! I'm a district technology integration specialist and work in Northbrook, IL (a northern suburb of Chicago). If you'd like an adult to interview, would love to Skype with one or more of your students. I taught 4th grade for many years and remember well those state research projects.

I may also be able to find a student to be interviewed, but might want the questions in advance to be sure s/he knows the answers (ie. population of IL or whatever 'fact' you might want answered)
