Cuando pienso que no solo se van de su País por la necesidad de prosperar pero que también emigran por el miedo de no saber si van a poder regresar a sus casa, ya que las calles de Venezuela hay mucho peligro. También ellos no pueden estar en su país porque no tienen medicinas para sus familias. Además el gobierno no ayuda ya que hay corruption. Cómo es que el gobierno que prometió ayudar y proteger a los ciudadanos es el motivo que la population de Venezuela. Me deja sin palabras si yo estuviera en la misma situation economica como los Venezolanos, yo también emigraría a Perú o a otro país. También pienso que algunos Peruanos pensaran que los Venezolanos le están “robando” los trabajos. Pienso que para los Venezolanos es muy difícil dejar toda una vida atrás y empezar de nuevo. Como parte de una estrategia represora, los alumnos se vieron obligados a escribir “<a style="color: #326891; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www.npr.org/2017/10/20/558739863/the-day-a-texas-school-held-a-funeral-for-the-spanish-language" target="_blank" rel="noopener">We will not speak Spanish</a>” en un papel que debía depositarse en una caja con forma de ataúd. Una vez lleno, se organizó un funeral para “Mr. Spanish” y se ofició un entierro en presencia de toda la escuela.</p>

Las formas de represión lingüística son muy variadas en sutileza y abarcan desde la coerción cotidiana en las familias o los barrios, hasta la prohibición de enseñar en la escuela alguna lengua.</p>

El Estado no debería imponer un modo de vida preferible, sino dejar que los ciudadanos elijan sus valores y fines, sin perjuicio de la libertad de los demás. Y uno de los derechos individuales más arraigados es usar la lengua propia en la comunicación personal. En caso contrario solo cabe una salida: la expulsión. De ahí que muchos de los estadounidenses que exigen el uso público y privado del inglés están reivindicando mucho más que la lengua de un país: están demandando el uso de “<a style="color: #326891; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www.univision.com/shows/aqui-y-ahora/miedo-a-hablar-espanol-ponemos-a-prueba-la-discriminacion-que-padecen-hispanohablantes-en-eeuu-video" target="_blank" rel="noopener">la lengua del mundo</a>”, la lengua, por tanto, en la que “todos” deberíamos igualarnos, especialmente los inmigrantes, los otros, los distintos. Aunque se podría observar que <em style="color: #333333; font-family: georgia,times new roman,times,serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; font-weight: 400; line-height: 22.88px; max-width: none; width: auto; margin: 0px;">los distintos</em> en Estados Unidos tienen la segunda lengua materna <a style="color: #326891; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://cvc.cervantes.es/lengua/espanol_lengua_viva/pdf/espanol_lengua_viva_2017.pdf">más hablada del mundo</a> por número de hablantes, después del mandarín.</p>

Sin desmerecer, aseguran que es nada comparada con la agitación de despertar en su país y constatar que se ha sobrevivido a un día más. “Me cansé de vivir allá con miedo. De salir del trabajo y no tener idea de si iba a regresar a casa. Y eso que yo vivía cerca del Palacio de Gobierno”, cuenta Wolgfang Jiménez (31), un risueño caraqueño que trabaja en un <i style="box-sizing: border-box;">call center</i> de Lince y que también vende comida de su país. </p>
<p class="parrafo first-parrafo" id="p485241-m323-1-324" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 20px; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; word-wrap: break-word;">A veces Jiménez se pregunta cómo llegó a su situación. Piensa que en la vida cumplió los pasos que se suponían eran los correctos: estudiar, conseguir un trabajo en su profesión –Educación– y ser bueno en lo que hacía. “¡Aún soy el mejor en lo que hago!”, dice contento mientras prepara un pan de ají amarillo con ‘reina pepeada’, un aderezo típico de allá. Wolgfang es un optimista empedernido pese a todo lo que le ha pasado. Hace un año, un secuestro con armas al bus en el que viajaba por Caracas, el segundo que padecía, terminó por decidirlo. “No tenía hijos, no lo pensé más y me vine para el Perú. No tengo vergüenza de vender comida, aunque nunca pensé que iba a terminar en esto”, dice.</p>
<p class="parrafo first-parrafo" id="p485241-m333-2-334" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 20px; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; word-wrap: break-word;"><b style="box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: bold;">HIJOS DE LA CATÁSTROFE<br style="box-sizing: border-box;"/></b>La de Wolgfang es solo una de las miles de historias del exilio venezolano que pueden conocerse caminando por las calles de Lima. Es, además, uno de los rostros involuntarios de esa “diáspora venezolana”, como llama The New York Times a los 150 mil ciudadanos que han abandonado Venezuela en el último año, debido a la ruina económica que se vive en el otrora rico país petrolero.</p>
<p class="parrafo first-parrafo" id="p485241-m343-3-344" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 20px; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; word-wrap: break-word;">La necesidad de subsistir y el estatus informal de sus documentos ha arrojado a miles de llaneros en el Perú al comercio ambulatorio. Una de ellas es Erika Chale (23), ingeniera civil con dos años ya en Lima, quien vende arepas, el popular platillo hecho con masa de maíz. a ella se le encuentra todas las tardes en el centro cívico. Anota que una paisana suya, arquitecta, vende medias en una tienda. Una afortunada. Un poco más allá, otros 11 connacionales suyos ofrecen arepas por el Jirón de la Unión, vestidos con las casacas de la selección venezolana.</p>
<p class="parrafo first-parrafo" id="p485241-m348-4-349" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 20px; line-height: 30px; margin-bottom: 25px; word-wrap: break-word;">El caso de Erika es especial. Sus padres son peruanos, que viajaron a Venezuela a fines de los 80, cuando ese país tenía una economía boyante, pero nunca la inscribieron como ciudadana del Perú. Ella habla y se siente como una venezolana, pero su aspiración es conseguir la nacionalidad peruana, un trámite que está solicitando a la Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones. Como su caso hay cientos. “Allá tenía que hacer cola a las 4 de la mañana para conseguir alimentos al mediodía. Ahora, mi familia me cuenta que hace la misma cola y no recibe nada. El Gobierno les entrega una vez al mes una caja con un kilo de arroz y un kilo de pasta y quieren que sobrevivan con eso y los 15 dólares mensuales que es el sueldo”. Allá no le creen cuando les cuenta que con 25 arepas vendidas aquí puede hacer 40 dólares al día, no sin esfuerzo.</p>
