Hi, I am also new here and am looking for real suggestions.

As an in service teacher, I want my student teaching to be exciting. We just got a brand new ActivBoard. (Nothing to do with my question, I don't think.)
My MT uses no tech. The kids are pretty saavy, I think they'll catch on to anything. I'm looking for a medium that can do everything.
I want a page for voicethreads, a page for kids to blog, a page to the parents (and that they can communicate back with me), pages and links to what we are studying -kids work/writing/responses, and I want it to look pretty.

I checked out pageflakes and it's not pretty. (am I blind to something?)
Weebly is cool, but I can't figure out voicethreads on that one.

Also, the kids might want to connect with another class. Finally, I'd love to keep the site for future and interviewing.
Thoughts? Is a Wiki my real option? A blog?
Thanks!
Is anyone else having these sorts of problems?
We have experienced several errors using Web 2.0 tools.
With Google Docs, we are unable to have more that 5 editing a document at a time without errors.
In ToonDoo, students all logged in with their own account, but when they saved their cartoon, it wasn't there, but showed up in other student accounts!
With Voicethread, uploading photos looks like it's working, but sits and spins and never loads.
Slide.com has issues with saving as well.
We are running Microsoft ISA2003 Proxy, and the way it is set up, to the outside world there are only 4 IP addresses coming out of the district. Staff are starting to get frustrated and stopping using the tools. If anyone has a solution, it would be much appreciated! Yesterday I created a free Voicethread Pro account at http://voicethread.com/ with a username(e-mail) of: vteducator@gmail.com and password: voicethread.
If anyone can go, log in and then upload an area picture from where you live with a comment that would be great! Trying to show the power of social networking as well as one way to use Voicethread to teachers here in Western New York. There have been quite a few so far. The first screen has a…

Trying to show the power of social networking as well as one way to use Voicethread to teachers here in Western New York. There have been quite a few so far. The first screen has a page with writing on it, if you click on it, then in the top left corner click and go to edit, you can then upload and comment.
Please give you name and the location of the pic.
Thanks for all your help,
Mark Optimum size for Voicethread images?tag:www.classroom20.com,2008-05-03:649749:Topic:1374892008-05-03T04:51:11.190ZBritt Gowhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/BrittGow
I've created a few different voicethread projects with students, but I want to know the optimum photo size for this purpose? It seems you need 400 pixel photos for blogs and wikis and another size for Slideshare. I am using Irfanview to resize images, but I need several different sizes of the same photo to be suitable for different purposes. A few pictures I have tried to upload have taken forever (well, a really long time).

I am collecting examples of how educators are using Voicethread in their classroom or for professional development on a wiki at: http://voicethread4education.wikispaces.com/

My plan is to share these examples with other technology teachers who provide professional development in their schools.

Feel free to add your own examples or links to resources. Thanks in advance,
Hi everyone, December or thereabouts is a time for celebrating! Christmas, Hannuka, Kwanzaa and Eid Al-Fitr all fall round about December time. I'm trying to create a voice thread where students can send vocal greetings around the world, to their friends and family.
Flickr Pool: "">http://flickr.com/groups/festiveseason
Stage Two (after I add your graphics to the VoiceThread)
Have students record Holiday Greetings to their friends and family either in English or in L1.
