LiveBinders is a great web2.0 tool . It allows its users to better organize their bookmarked and favourite sites in a very neat and easily accessible page . I think that every educator should really be using it . learn more about this tool in LiveBinders : The educative tool teachers should not miss

So, I'm sorting back through a bunch of old bookmarks in my Diigo account right now. I've got some bookmarks that are 10 years old. Sites that I imported from my browser's bookmarks and which date back to college. I'm finding several sites that are now dead links. No big deal. But it has occurred to me that it would be pretty snazzy if Diigo (or other bookmarking tools) had a self-cleaning function. But it has occurred to me that it would be pretty snazzy if Diigo (or other bookmarking tools) had a self-cleaning function. I would think that it would be a pretty easy program to write that would run through all of your bookmarks, "click" to the sight and discover if it's an active link or not. If not, the next time you log into your account, a message would pop-up saying you have broken links, do you want to delete them or try to fix them.

How cool would that be?

Web 2.0 coursetag:www.classroom20.com,2009-11-23:649749:Topic:4092012009-11-23T11:47:36.324ZMark Barneshttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/MarkBarnes78
I recently developed a course, Web 2.0 for the K12 Classroom, which I teach online through Lake Erie College. I teach blogging, podcasting, social networking, social bookmarking and video sharing. Do you know of some sort of new Web 2.0 tool that might be a nice addition to my course?
Thanks for your input.

I've searched through the archives and I can't find one place that really summarizing the thinking of the group and the group's experience with social bookmarking sites.

I'm trying to discern whether I should use delicious or pageflakes or diigo. I get that delicious doesn't allow you to share anything but the annotation and the URL. It seems as if pageflakes allows you to do that and adds more options (podcasts, RSS feeds). Diigo almost has another purpose...to save teh URL along with pieces…

What would you chose to use and at what age group? If I'm repeating a question that has already been addressed, if you could tell me where to look, I will go there. But I couldn't find anything that summarized all three of these in one place.
Thanks for your help. Bookmarking Tool - Bonzobox.comtag:www.classroom20.com,2009-01-19:649749:Topic:2666162009-01-19T08:58:46.197Zlozonianhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/lozonian
I am using a bookmarking site www.bonzobox.com with my students for collecting resources. They love it because it has a thumbnail picture of each of the websites and you can use their "bonzobuddy" messaging system to share resources. I'd like to get feedback on how others are using this site with their classes.

I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction here!

I'm creating a research lesson and although I personally use Diigo and delicious extensively, I haven't used either with students yet. I'm hoping that it would be possible to create 1 new account (could be delicious or Diigo - I'm fine with either) and have all of the students log in to it simultaneously and be able to save all of their resources to that one account - can this be done?

I'll only have these…

I'll only have these students for 2 days, so having them create individual accounts for this one activity seems rather pointless, since the objective is to have all of their resources in one spot. We're going to be working on research skills, technology skills, and (hopefully!) reinforcing their knowledge of cell structures, as this is a science class.

Anyway, the main question here is whether multiple (up to 30) people can be logged into a delicious or diigo account and if not, if anyone has any suggestions. My alternate way of doing this was going to be embedding a google form in my wiki and have the students copy/paste all of their urls into the form and I'd either then put them into delicious or just publish the google spreadsheet. I know there HAS to be an easy way to do this AND that someone out there has done this before :-)
I'm doing a presentation on Web 2.0 Tools tomorrow and need examples of Diigo, Clipmarks, Panraven, and Comiqs being used in elementary, middle, and highschool classes. Please send links if possible. I already have excellent examples from the Web for wikis, tikatok, and voicethread. It's a 50-minute presentation so this is more like an introduction to Web 2.0 for most teachers at my school because we just got Smartboards. We also have virtual school when the need arises.

Susan Tsairi started a Classroom 2.0 group in Diigo some months ago, and I'm wanting to give it some promotion here! If you are using Diigo (www.diigo.com) for social bookmarking, and you join the Classroom 2.0 group (http://groups.diigo.com/groups/classroom20), you can "send" bookmarks that related to Web 2.0/collaboration in education to the group.
From my standpoint, this would be a great way to be clued into new sites, and I can use the group for the now-weekly Classroom 2.0 "Web 2.0 in Education" show on Saturday mornings (see http://www.classroom20wiki.com/LIVE+Conversations).

By the way, you can also "tweet" your bookmarks directly from Diigo. Pretty cool, too. K-12 Social Bookmarkingtag:www.classroom20.com,2008-02-19:649749:Topic:1106722008-02-19T03:56:29.320ZMark Schumannhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/MarkSchumann
Hello, I thought this would be a great place to introduce myself and share with you a new web resource that I developed over the Christmas period designed for K-12 educators.
To give you a little background, I work in the IT department at a school in Melbourne, Australia. Having moved into an e-Learning Developer position, I basically manage our Moodle and other e-Learning systems, as well as train staff in their use. I've always been a big advocate of web 2.0 tools, and am constantly looking at ways of both sharing these technologies and introducing them as part of the curriculum. It looks like this community appears to have a similar philosophy which is great.

As a result of this, I developed Edutagger, a K-12 social bookmarking site. Obviously it's very new, but i'm looking to promote it as much as possible so that the kinds of resources that we'll find will be of higher quality and relevancy. The system resembles Digg more than say del.icio.us, as it uses a voting system to determine what ends up being displayed on the front page.

It would be fantastic if you signed up and "edutagged" anything you find interesting (Classroom 2.0 is already on there). It's important to get enough users to achieve a kind of "critical mass" that allows the users to promote relevant content of higher quality. If you don't have anything to add, feel free to look at the New Links section and "edutag" anything you find interesting, as this will help as well. Feel free to forward Edutagger to any colleagues that may be interested, the more users we have the more we all benefit.

I'd love it if anyone would like to share their thoughts on Edutagger. I've already received some valuable feedback and made some changes.
