They have over 16,000 teacher created assignments and assessments and over 70 different question types. If you have used it, please let me know your thoughts?

Hello,

I am a K-5 LMC Director from suburban Chicago looking to begin an after school Read Aloud Club with 3rd-5th grade students in January. I was hoping to find another school where we could meet and discuss the book, and school in general, via Skype or some other digital format.

Are there any ESL teachers out there? I am pondering how to teach simple past tense to elementary school children (3rd-5th graders). We will be using regular verbs (those to which "-ed" is added to create the past tense). How much should I teach the "ed" rule, and how much should I simply give examples and have the children try it out and use transcribed conversations to pick it up? Are there any skits, songs, TPR activities, or other techniques you would recommend? Many thanks!

Hi,

I am hoping to get some direction on a good site to use to take students work and create a digital book that I would be able to put on my website and share with parents.

I am currently making an alliteration book with my 3rd graders. Each student gets one page to write and illustrate their allititeration. I now want to take this to the digital level but not sure where to go to convert this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi

I am looking to connect with classes around the world, grades 3-6, who are interested in early access to beta testing of a new innovative game, where kids can trade knowledge, collect it and play with it.

It's going to take about 6 months before we're ready with the beta version - but this is a really great opportunity not only to get an early access to this game, but also to affect how it is further developed.

The game is supportive of the Common Core Standards in Language Arts. It's aimed at supporting kids' curiosity and creativity while expanding their general knowledge.

Please let me know if you're interested and where your class is located.

This opportunity is open to any class with English speaking students around the world. Will ship European languages later.

Please feel free to feedback or ask anything either here or in a direct private message.
Minecraft in Educationtag:www.classroom20.com,2013-01-29:649749:Topic:9077992013-01-29T23:30:45.597ZColin Gallagherhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/ColinGallagher26

A recently-retired elementary school classroom teacher, I am teaching photography to 120 fourth and fifth graders over the coming semester. I will work with six classes of 19-23 for 45 minutes each during one day per week -- until mid-May. The school has a set of iPad3 machines; each iPad will have to serve as capture, viewing, and editing platform for six students -- one after the other. If possible, I want to evaluate and look at student work offline: I want to have the images available to me on some kind of cloud service.

There is a small chance that I will get permission to allow the parents or even the larger community to see these on line, but the fear of student images on the Internet is very strong among a few families and the school will be super cautious about any open posting. However, I would love to see each student have a page of images up on the web, if only temporarily. There is unlikely to be any way to print these images on the school network except one or two on a laser printer for teaching purposes.

Their goal is increased comfort with coming up with ideas, trying them, improving, and articulating these viewpoint or concepts. I will write a rubric about the work product that rewards doing their best to examine, improve and refine. I haven't figured out which core standard that is, but I will call it "Look, look again, and see."

I am trying to test GoogleDrive accounts that would allow each "Album" to save up at the end of the session. Yes, I realize that means entering the info for 130 named accounts… or does it? My first try downloading GoogleDrive without going through iTunes didn't work. Should I be able to download and install GoogleDrive without the AppStore(iTunes the same thing?)

Anyone have some suggestions? I am a Windows or Android guy and the iPad environment is making me a little crazy. I can't open iTunes accounts for these guys. I will probably use Guided Access to keep everyone on task.

Creative, inventive, experiencing art and art collections together with the ideas to personally fabricate, remix and make something tangible with room for creativity, reinvention, and collaboration..... Sounds like 21st century skills abound.

As educators, if you had a 3D printer in your school or classroom, what do you imagine could happen? If you already have one, what uses exist??
The science curriculum is new this year for 4th grade in my county. Erosion and weathering was added as a unit. Do you have any great interactive websites or activities that the students get a lot out of? The past units I have been able to include many hands-on and online experiments and I would like to continue to do so with this unit.
