Hi everyone. I'm looking for some sort of book that will teach Adobe Flash (well actually Macromedia Flash, we haven't been able to upgrade) to students.

I think I "do" a fairly decent job teaching but I would like a visual book that they can take with them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

~Tom
I am interested in creating some flash activities for my students to do online that lets them interact with information. I teach 2nd and 3rd graders and use Moodle as a way to supplement the classroom. I like flash because it usually plays on any computer they use. I don't want to create drill and practice games; I've seen the sites to create those. I want to create activities that let them use higher order thinking and graphic organizers. I've taught myself how to do a lot with technology, but…

Here is a brief review of one software and one online application to create Flash animations. They are both quite easy to use (like Powerpoint / OpenOffice Impress presentation tools) and ... free!!!

Powerbullet
Full online application to create Flash animations, with a nice design... although it is not always easy to find his way around with so many buttons and options all over the place... Still seems quite complete. It hasn't been tested totally for one reason : I did not find a way to create new pages and I wanted to do so in my example animation ... maybe next time! Still, it's free and very promising.

If you come to test either of them, your comments will be very welcome ...
Hi There!

Thanks for this group. It looks really useful.

I work a lot with secondary teachers looking to make better use of the boards and they have a hard time finding the right resources on their topics. Whilst there are some great resources on wikis and things out there, I am not sure if there is any open resource, that I can add to, that lists interactive, maybe java and flash resources that I can use on any EWB that can be searched by topic or level. Does anyone know of anything like this? Promethean and Smart have their own of course but only for their propriety software. What I am looking for is something like the UK based http://www.iwb.org.uk/ site which lists generic apps and catalogs them.

Cheers
