I'm in the process of creating podcasts with my students and wanted them to post them to their blogs. In order to do this I must host them on the internet. Has anyone accomplished this task with a large number of students? I'd like each group (There are 45) to have a separate website hosting their podcast episodes.
I have some web space available, just need guidance from there.
Okay, here is what I'm trying to do. I want to create a podcast, upload it to my school server, then use a flash player like ODEO or other to embed into my LMS. These are the steps I use right now but would like an easier version or some clarification if you can.
1. Create in Garageband on my Mac
2. Send to Itunes in order to convert to MP3 (this doesnt always work so easily, what am I doing wrong)
3. FTP my MP3 up to school server
4. Get player embed code, and link to url on server
Somewhere in Step 2 and 3 I get stuck sometimes. I send my podcast to Itunes and it doesnt show up. I convert my podcast to an mp3 in Itunes and I cant find the file (right click on m4a file, convert to mp3, no idea where it goes because I cant see it). Even when that part works, it still seems like it should be easier than 5 steps.
What do you do?
Is there any software similar to Apples Garageband that can be used on a PC. I like the feature of adding photos to the podcast and music. It is so user friendly.

Is it possible to upload from more than one iWeb to my .Mac account? I have my own iWeb posted on my .Mac but when a student makes an iMovie or Garageband I would like to post it on my already established .Mac account. Is is possible and how would you do it?

We just finished our Rotoball project, in which students from 12 schools around the world submitted 15 second animations that will be linked together to create a much longer project.

For the orginal rotoball project the students chose music that would go well with the animation. This time, I think it would be great to get some student musicians involved instead.
The students did an amazing job with the animation, and I'm currently in process of putting the final project together. Now we're looking for a musical score. If you have students who are using music composition and mixing programs like garageband, or something fancier, and think that they have created some music that we could use in this global collaboration, please leave a comment here, or my page, or shoot me an email to david.gran@saschina.org
Thanks!!!!
