I'm getting pretty fed up with these two programs. Isn't there anything better?? I'm not concerned about the time it takes, it helps my pupils better appreciate the efforts which go into Stop Action animation. But surely there is a more fluid, better system. Isn't there? If anyone knows of a better program let me know!
Thanks!
W I'd like some advice on how to begin a short movie unittag:www.classroom20.com,2009-05-08:649749:Topic:3396602009-05-08T01:33:48.520ZPatrick Hhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/PatrickH
My goal is for my students to create scripts, storyboards, and other necessary planning in order to complete a successful movie for my language arts class.

I'm aiming to do short two minute movies while emphasizing the use of storyboarding, script writing, and other behind the scenes duties.

We have Macs, and we would be using Imovie as our editing tool.

I'd greatly appreciate any knowledge, advice, or resources you could share on this topic.

If you do stop-motion animation/claymation with your students (or are looking for an excuse to get started), a colleague and I are looking for more classes to join a "secretive student movie society" that creates and published short stop-motion movies.
The group is known as Longfellow 10. (http://lf10.wordpress.com/)
The first wave of movies are all based around explaining a literary term. (see example below)
While our two classes are middle school-aged students, we are open to other grades getting involved.
We have a few resources to help teachers get started:
2. A claymation project overview
I love them. I love seeing them in dark theaters first. I love getting home fresh and writing about them on my main blog. Anyone else interested?
