I had an idea of creating a lesson that incorporates the core skills of the English curriculum: have students research a topic, then write a transcript for a podcast and produce a podcast. It doesn't have to be uploaded to any public sites but could be just an audio recording submitted for assessment. This takes the pressure off of kids to present speeches every time they are assessed on verbal skills. This also builds technological skills that students can really use. Students should know how to create audio files in the 21st century and we could be sparking a potential podcast star among our students!

I would love to be able to listen to MP3 recordingd of Classroom 2.0 LIVE shows on my non-Apple (Android) phone. Classroom 2.0 live seems to have only an iTunes subscription which excludes anyone who is not using iTunes.

While the audio-only version of the show is embedded in a player on the Classroom 2.0 Live archives page, the RSS feed for the archives (http://live.classroom20.com/1/feed) does not seem to actually include the MP3 audio st enclosures to each feed entry so subscribing to that feed does not work to subscribe to the podcast.

Is there another way to do this or some alternative feed for the MP3 audio like there is for The Future of Education? If not, would someone who has access to the MP3's consider creating a feed that can be used by those of us who do not use iTunes?

Any suggestions are appreciated and if there is something technical I can do to facilitate this for others too, I might be able to help.

Hello everyone! This is Shawn, co-host of The Tightwad Tech. I just wanted to let you know that we recently interviewed Classroom 2.0 members Amanda Wilson and Derrick Waddell for the show. Amanda was in episode 17, "The Social Classroom" and Derrick was in episode 18, "Google Apps in the Classroom". We have never had a classroom 2.0 member on the show and now we have two back to back. Hello friends,

I am in the midst of planning a so called intervention in a secondary school on the use of Podomatic (I'd refer to it as audioblog) for oral lessons. The plan is to use Podomatic as the central technological tools to enhance the teaching and learning of oral lessons. Students will use Podomatic to record, re-record, comment on peers, do self-reflection. Teachers will provide feedback, scaffold and other related resources. These are all within the environment of Podomatic. There are 2 objectives. 1 is to address some issues that teachers raised with regards to podcasts only (without blog). These are technical issues, uploading or linking to blogs and on providing feedbacks. Most podcasts sites either allow only recording but not hosting or vice versa. And they do not provide any feature to post comments. The other objective is to foster meaningful learning via the use of technology, in this case Podomatic. Podomatic features allows students to do peer critic, self-reflection and co-operative work.

Now with all that planned, I need to think of some ways to assess if the intervention do work or otherwise. I am not sure how to go about doing this. Please advise. Million thanks.

~fareed
Podcast- Convert from M4A to MP3?tag:www.classroom20.com,2010-02-10:649749:Topic:4345782010-02-10T00:02:54.055ZRachel Gendronhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/RachelGendron662

I have been using Gcast to create and upload podcasts to my blog. Now I see that they are closing up on Feb. 1, 2010 and not taking anymore uploads. Can anyone suggest another 'free' site where I can upload from? Thanks in advance for the help.
