This week at the ITSC conference
in Portland OR, I was really shocked at the amount of demand for
anything to do with teachers learning how to use video creation in the
classroom.

Those sessions looked to be full and maybe even overflowing!

As a media producer, I create video projects for the web for my clients so I am doing this week in and week out. I also

this and feel that they don't have anyplace locally to get some help?
This is really more of a curiosity poll and or offer than anything else.

Jay Do you poll your class?tag:www.classroom20.com,2008-07-25:649749:Topic:1682642008-07-25T03:21:54.040ZIan Mhttps://www.classroom20.com/profile/IanMcCallam
In your classes or workshops do you use polls to understand what your students are thinking? Have you considered using polls? If you have what methods have you used? There's many Audience Response Systems out there, but these are quite expensive.
I'm keen to understand your thoughts and past experiences on this type of classroom/seminar/workshop interaction.
I have just launched a SMS Poll (www.smspoll.net) that I believe would be of great benefit to Students (for their presentations) and for Teachers when interacting with the classroom. It's simple to use, you can sign up for free and the students use their own mobiles or laptops to vote. I have posted a forum discussion here. http://www.classroom20.com/xn/detail/649749:Topic:167664
I would love to hear your feedback on whether you think you would find this product useful and also if their are any features you feel could be added to improve the product for the education sector.

Cheers,
Out of sheer curiosity, I've added a poll to the sidebar of my blogger blog. This is one of the new features rolled out by "blogger in draft" . (Other features are: video upload from within the editor; a google search engine which can be set to search: your blog, your blog and sites you link to from within your posts, and the 'whole' web.)
The poll question "How Many Online IDs Do You Have", is one that my fake identities and myself have been asking on and off, since we read that "MySpace Hits 100 Million Accounts" in Mashable a year ago....

Obviously the poll is just a bit of fun . However, in my "real life" I am constantly surprised by the seeming contradiction between the statistics and how few of my acquaintances/colleagues/employers even know what social sites and web2.0 are. Could the statistics be based on the multiple IDs of users like myself? If so, what, if any, are the implications?
