I notice your posting date, with no responses. Perhaps you've moved ahead...or moved on...with this idea. I teach <i>Beowulf</i>, and have read Tolkien's works, though never used them in the classroom. I do, however, refer to them, and recently included a few excerpts when presenting the archetypal hero's journey (ala Joseph Campbell, <u>The Hero with a Thousand Faces</u>).
