I'm working with a high school teacher who wants to start a classroom wiki. The teacher isn't very tech savvy, so I'm looking for something he can implement simply and for free.

I've been looking into PB Works. Does anyone use this or have any reviews? Are there other wiki providers out there that you use?

Thanks, in advance!

HI Katy - Plans start at $5 a month, and there are discounts for educational use for the plans that cost more than 5 bucks a month. You can check it out at http://www.editme.com/pricing

On that page, You'll see two prices listed for each plan. Non-profits & educators receive the lower of the two prices. This amounts to a 50% discount - not too shabby! There is no discount for the $5 a month Starter plan sites.

Every plan has a 30 day free trial period!

Hope this helps!

About a month ago, I started using wikispaces with two of my high school math classes. I have to say that I really like it thus far and am glad I went with wikispaces. I started out with the basic wiki, but requested the next level in the plan (for free) because I am using it for educational purposes. The free upgrade allowed me to create names and passwords for my students so I could keep track of who was editing what page and answering things with discussions, etc.

Though I do like technology, I think once someone plays with it they can pick up on working with it very easily. And the kids have enjoyed working with it. If you would like to take a look here it is: https://msblasioli.wikispaces.com/

Good luck!
Awesome. Thanks so much, Lori!
