Complete Profiles

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of people who fill out their profiles with plenty of information. It's frustrating to visit someone's profile and not be able to find out where they teach, what they teach, and some information about them. I realize people may not be interested in putting a lot of personal information out there, but we are all part of this Ning to network and learn from each other. To me, learning and networking is a lot more interesting when I know who I'm connecting with. I'm also much more willing to work with you if I know more about you. Visiting a profile and just seeing a nickname and location doesn't cut it for me. If you're new to this Ning, fill out your profile as much as possible. Believe me, it will be worth it. If you disagree, please tell me why.

Oh yeah, pictures are nice too. Even if it's a graphic or avatar, it's better than the generic one.

I agree. I'm a new member and find the information helpful. Also, we're talking about professional info here. I don't care about personal status or political views, but if I'm looking for info from another middle school media specialist, I'd like to know if that's what you do. Thanks for making the point. I'll be checking my own profile now!
