Doubts on "approval" messages

I am concerned of a message that shows in my profile. It reads "We have to approve every new member of the network to protect from "spammers." We apologize for any delay this causes. To help in this process, please tell us why you are joining this network."

But, actually, I can do things in the community without a problem (and the "why you are joining this network" was answered ~a year ago that I first joined).

The message, even if it seems is private (only I can see it), bothers me. I can't see my profile as clean as I want it.

[If this is not the place to post this questions, I will appreciate if someone tells me where... even if I tried to join a year ago, I am just starting my participation in here]

I have participate in other ning based virtual communities, and have always been able to post a blog directly. I started my blog today, and recevied a "This post is awaiting approval." message.

Does this mean that blogging in here is moderated?

Or there is something wrong with my account?

I joined like a year ago, and waited for an "approval" message after doing what I was asked to (tell why I was joining). As that took long, I forgot the community. Even with the message, it seems I can do some things without a problem.

Am I approved but the message is still there?

Or not being able to blog without approval means I am not fully approved?
